WITHOUT WORKING TOGETHER, WE RISK MISSING THE OPPORTUNITY TO EMPOWER THE NEXT GENERATION OF MUSLIM CANADIAN PIONEERS.
Edmonton Islamic Academy has always been at the forefront of Islamic education and establishment in Canada. As we look to the future, we face a critical juncture. The empowerment of countless young minds hangs in the balance. Without this new facility, we may struggle to provide the cutting-edge resources and nurturing environment our youth deserve. The risk isn’t just to our school but to the broader Muslim Canadian community. We could miss out on cultivating the next generation of changemakers who will shape the future of our nation, the Ummah at large, and beyond. By coming together to support this project, we ensure that the legacy of firsts continues and that every child can reach their full potential and contribute to the world’s bright future.

FAQ’s
Why does the new school cost $80 million?
Typically, constructing a school for 400 students costs between $40 and $50 Million. Our project involves building an educational facility with a capacity for 1,700 children, which is over three times larger than a standard school.

Have other alternatives to a new school building been explored?
Yes! The Edmonton Public School Board does not release surplus schools to independent authorities like ours. Building a new school tailored to the needs of our community’s children is a requirement and is not found elsewhere. The new school will be a pioneer in 21st century learning and will be intentionally built to face towards the Qibla.

Why is constructing this school a priority?
Meeting the demand for a secure environment offering Islamic and academic education is of upmost importance for our children within the Muslim community. Over 1500 children are on the waiting list and the demand is steadily increasing. Providing a nurturing environment aligned with Islamic principles is essential for our children’s development and future.

When is the new school planned to open?
Through your continued support, we aim to open the doors to our new school by September 2026, Insha’Allah.

How does the quality of education at EIA compare to other schools?
The EIA is highly esteemed, and the Fraser Institute recognizes our institution as one of the top K-12 schools. We are in the top 2 in Edmonton and 7th in the entire province. Our commitment to academic excellence and character development is clear to see. The new facility will continue this tradition, providing high-quality faith-based education while fostering leadership, interfaith understanding, and technology integration.

Are donations tax-deductible?
