Join Our Legacy

Join us in creating a lasting legacy at the Edmonton Islamic Academy‘s Elementary new school building. Each tile you sponsor will not only become a permanent part of our new facility but will also showcase your personal touch or family’s artistic expression. All contributions are tax–deductible, making your participation not only a meaningful tribute but also a beneficial choice at tax time.

How It Works

Sponsor Your Tile

Select how many tiles you would like to sponsor. Each 4″ x 4″ tile serves as a blank canvas for your creativity.

Personalize Your Tile

Once you sponsor a tile, our team will provide you with the materials needed to paint your tile at home or during one of our community tile–coloring events.

Return Your Tile

After you‘ve added your personal touch, return your tile to the Edmonton Islamic Academy main office. We will collect all the tiles by a specified deadline to prepare them for installation.

Installation by Architects

Our architects will thoughtfully place each personalized tile in a prominent location within the new school building, ensuring that your contribution is prominently displayed and appreciated by all who walk through the doors.

Unveiling Ceremony

An unveiling ceremony will take place where we will celebrate the completion of the project and the tile wall and recognize participants who have helped make this project a reality. Details of the ceremony will be provided closer to the completion of the school’s construction.

Painting Guide

Sketch your design first on paper, then get ready to paint a picture you’ll be proud to remember for years to come.

Wash your hands before handling ceramics – creams and oils can damage the surface.

Use 3 coats of paint for full coverage. For handprints or footprints, 1 coat is enough. Let each coat dry before adding the next.

Planning your design:

For a white background, sketch with pencil, then paint.
For a colored background, paint first, let it dry, then sketch.
Important: Pencil, ink, and markers will disappear during firing—paint anything you want to keep!

Make sure your tile is neat, presentable and includes appropriate content.

Use only the provided paint. Don’t mix colors. Paint will look lighter before firing and darken afterward.

Rinse and dry brushes before switching colors to keep them clean.

Paint your full name on the back of the tile. You may also paint your initials on the front of the tile if desired.

Once complete place your tile back in the packaging, make sure all information is filled out and return to the EIA main oce.

Please Note: We reserve the right to refuse tiles that don’t follow these guidelines. Tiles will be arranged in a random order—no specific placements or special requests will be accommodated.

Dear Families

We are excited to announce that the Legacy Tile Campaign has begun! Each family member can sponsor a 4×4 inch tile, which can be customized with any design, drawing, or message of your choice. Once complete the tiles will be permanently displayed in the new elementary campus as shown in the images provided on the right

Important Details:

Payment Deadline: All payments must be submitted and forms returned to the main office by May 16, 2025

Tile Distribution: Tiles will be distributed starting May 19, 2025 and onwards. Kit will include tile, brush and paint colors.

Tile Completion Deadline: Tiles must be completed and returned by June 16, 2025

When Will You See Your Tile Again?: The next time you see your tile will be at the new school, God Willing!

The funds raised will go towards the development of the new elementary campus.
