The First
Together, our founders established
Western Canada’s first Muslim
community.
Since then, we have built Canada’s
First Mosque – the Al Rashid Mosque
that solidified the position of our
community in Edmonton.
The first school we established
was a startup school, with 21
students, in the basement of
the Mosque.
Foundations
In 2006, we proudly established the
largest Islamic school. Six years
later, we opened our first-ever
Islamic High School in Western Canada,
with over 200 students enrolled
before the opening.
Today, our high school is Edmonton’s
top-performing school in the entire city.

campus, to continue protecting the
Islamic identities of our children
and empower them to find their
strength in their identity and a

across Canada and beyond.
